“The aptly titled ‘cleanse’ seems to ring true to every piece here; like stepping into a time warp and confronting those old memories head on as they wash over you. It comes through in the music - the title track’s backmasked vocals and soaring strings that sound like time spinning back, or ‘remembrance’s hihats that seem to bend and shift, dancing around pumelling kicks like the way your mind plays tricks on you with the emergence of blurry old ideas. 

The tape itself is a product of this, with surya seemingly shelving and later picking up the project to bring it to completion, dusting off old creations to accept them for what they are, and eventually bringing them into the world.”
